Strip Poker is Not for Everyone
While you might enjoy a casual game of card poker on occasion, you
will probably want to reserve your commitment to strip poker until you thoroughly
understand how it goes. In simple terms, a group of people play a game of poker
and instead of money, remove articles of clothing as their “ante”
or pool of winnings for the game.
This plays out as follows. The ante is set up for the first round as removing
your shoes if you fold or lose. The cards are dealt and the guy beside you gets
a straight flush, beating out the rest of the players. So everyone but the winner
takes off their shoes. For the next hand, removing a shirt might become the
ante. There are several variations to the game, but you get the general idea.
Strip poker obviously has its limits. Certainly no minors should play. Nor should
people who do not know each other well. Many observers would suggest that only
two spouses who are married to each other should take part in this game, and
then when they are alone with no risk of being surprised by the kids or a neighbor.
You can probably find one of these games going on in just about any community.
But you have to consider the consequences. Okay, so you’re in at the third
or fourth round and most of the players are down to their underwear. Are we
okay with that?
Although strip poker may seem like a fantasy come true for some, it can arouse
jealousy, envy, and anxiety among the players who participate. Violence has
been known to erupt at some games of strip poker. This is a game that may be
better off in the thought than in the process.
